Though I'm not much of a poetry person, I knew I had to buy this book, because Miriam Joy had written it, and I love her writing and her blog. Boy am I glad I did! Though many of the poems blurred together for me again, not much a poetry person as they all seemed very similar, they tackled heavy topics, such as death, loneliness, and sacrifice in a deep, honest, raw, and beautiful way.

Full of beautiful imagery and poems both long and short about all sorts of topics, all of which resonated with me. Miriam Joy is a new author, and poetry is an underrated genre nowadays. But this is well worth checking out. I had some particular favourites and the spectacular "Urban Angels" was a wonderful insight.
Crossroads Poetry is full of dark imagery that is executed brilliantly, with free verse and a vast vocabulary. As a lover of words, this put a smile on my face. I'm terrible Loved it. I'm terrible at writing reviews, but this was an easy five stars. Wonderful read worth the money. Sep 02, Charley Robson rated it it was amazing. This one is, in a way, my favourite of Miriam's collections.
There's a raw quality to these poems, a sort of pointed emotional accuracy that somehow manages to strike on almost every page. The style is fluid, the lengths variable, and the content vivid - everything a poetry collection should be. Highly recommended. View 1 comment.
